Scruff is a 13-year-old mixed Terrier who came into our care in July 2025 due to her owner’s health issues. She arrived with a younger dog from the same family, and both initially went into foster care.
During Scruff’s veterinary health check, a lump was discovered and, following further investigation, it was found to contain low-grade cancer cells.
While the younger dog was lively and in good health and was able to find a new home, Scruff is a much quieter girl who simply enjoys life at a slower pace. Her idea of a perfect day is a gentle stroll followed by a cosy sofa to call her own.
After getting to know Scruff, her foster family fell in love with her and decided they wanted her to stay with them as part of our long-term foster programme. She is now a very much loved member of their family and has settled beautifully.
Scruff attends regular veterinary check-ups, but we’re delighted that, at present, she doesn’t require any medical treatment.
