Lead Walking: VERY Strong on lead, will need some general lead walking training and impulse control. St Francis can support with this.
Reactivity towards Dogs: Has not had much exposure to other dogs in recent years – he is perfectly happy passing other dogs. can be reactive with dogs right in his face or in confined/close proximity such as vets waiting area. His new family will need to understand and respect his personal space.
Balou will need gradual exposure to the outside world, as he has not had much of this in recent years.

Exercise and Lifestyle
Exercise Requirements: Low/Medium
Daily Exercise Needs: Short and gentle but frequent exercise initially to help support his weight loss journey. Would benefit from short bursts (5-10mins, frequently in the day) of lead training rather than long walks.
Favourite activities: Cuddling, playing, eating!
Public Places
Comfortable in Public Places (e.g cafes, pubs, shops, town centres): Has had not much exposure in recent years so will need to be gradually built up. Would not like to be in a busy pub or café with lots of dogs close by. An outdoor setting where he can keep his distance would be better suited to him.
