About Me:
I am a sweet 3-year-old Jack Russell x Chihuahua x Bichon who can be a nervous and shy boy. I can find busy situations and young children overwhelming, so Iām looking for a calm, patient home where I can build my confidence at my own pace.
I have a terrier side to me and will benefit from plenty of enrichment, training, scent work, and terrier-type activities.

Home Compatibility
Children: Children aged 12+ who are calm and used to dogs. I find young children overstimulating and would not be suitable for a home with babies or young children.
Dogs: Could live with a calm, older dog who can provide gentle companionship
Cats/Small Animals: No cats or small animals due to terrier prey drive

Home Alone Time
I have previously been left for around 4 hours and generally settle well when I have my resident dog for company. As I will be adjusting to a new home and may no longer have canine company, my new family should be prepared to build up alone time gradually while I settle into my new routine.

Lead Walking: generally ok – some pulling
Visitors: I can be reactive towards visitors arriving at the house and can display some territorial behaviour. My new family will need to manage visitors carefully and help me learn that people coming into my home are nothing to worry about.
Confidence: I am a nervous and shy boy who can lack confidence in new situations. Confidence-building exercises and positive experiences will be an important part of helping me become more comfortable in the world around me.
I have not had a great deal of training so far, so my new family should be prepared to help me learn the basics and build my confidence at my own pace. Consistent, reward-based training will help me understand what is expected of me and give me the skills to cope with situations I find difficult

Exercise Requirements: Moderate
Daily Exercise Needs: I need regular moderate exercise combined with mental stimulation, enrichment, training, and opportunities to use my natural terrier instincts.
Providing me with appropriate activities will help keep my mind occupied, build my confidence, and give me positive outlets for my energy.

Comfortable in Public Places (e.g. cafƩs, pubs, shops, town centres): I can be nervous and shy in unfamiliar or busy environments and will benefit from being introduced to new places gradually and positively.
Quieter environments and gentle exposure will help me build confidence without becoming overwhelmed. My new family should allow me to experience new things at my own pace rather than expecting too much too soon.

Medical
I am currently entire. My testosterone is considered important for my confidence at this time, so my new family will need to discuss my ongoing care with their vet before making any decisions regarding neutering.
I am not currently up to date with my routine preventative healthcare and will need to restart my vaccinations.

Scamp is looking for a calm, patient, and understanding home that will give him the time, space, and encouragement he needs to build his confidence. He would suit an experienced family who understands nervous dogs and can carefully manage situations that he finds overwhelming.
He will benefit greatly from confidence-building exercises, scent work, enrichment, training, and terrier-type activities to help him develop his skills and enjoy life.
